The concept is great. The actual product is just ok. The lid to close the storage compartment doesn’t fit great due to the fabric covering velcro being over the lip. You have to really push to get it closed which then makes it require a pretty good tug to get it back open. I don’t find it to be as functional as I was hoping, which is why I went with the standard ottoman when I decided to expand.
Overall, I’m pleased with the console. They add a nice separation to the sofa, along with the convenience of the cup holders and chargers. A couple of things that are less than ideal are the sliding panel to the storage and one of the charging ports. Thee panels simply don’t open smoothly. I’ve added finger pulls that could be attached with an adhesive strip and the movement is much smoother. There is also a gap on the protocol with the usb-c charging port. It does not provide enough power for a usb-c to usb-c connection. I’ve tried both a 4+ year old iPad Pro and an iPhone 16 and neither will charge. An iPhone 13 that is still usb-c to lightening does work. It’s not a deal breaker, just an inconvenience of needing a power adapter.
